Cloud providers, value-added resellers (VARs) and channel partners all over are constantly looking for new additions to the lineup to help better compete in an ever-changing marketplace. It's no different for financial cloud provider and technology services partner Richard Fleischman and Associates (RFA), who recently decided to bolster its software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) lineup by bringing in Silver Peak (News - Alert)'s Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN system to better drive RFA's line up of IT services options.

With Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect in place, RFA can now offer a complete SD-WAN tool to help users connect distributed networks, and put the full range of options found in the RFA Private Cloud and Managed Public Cloud instances roster. RFA plans to make Unity EdgeConnect available immediately, and given that RFA boasts over 500 financial services clients, the Silver Peak SD-WAN system should make quite a splash in that market.

In the past, RFA has had three major challenges in terms of offering its private and public cloud IT options. One of the biggest was delivering the necessary connectivity without overloading the customer's wallet. Traditional solutions like multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) circuits proved costly but necessary, a distinction that need no longer be with the Silver Peak system. Second, security of on-premise network infrastructure could be both costly and difficult to manage, but EdgeConnect can simplify this process by extending the latest in firewalls from the RFA Cloud Platform to the local network. Finally, with EdgeConnect, it's a fairly simple matter to connect public cloud services with private cloud instances for maximum efficiency.

RFA's CTO, Grigoriy Millis, commented,  “We are very pleased with the initial rollout of our Silver Peak SD-WAN solution, our clients are delighted to shift from expensive, private MPLS circuits to ubiquitous and economical broadband connectivity knowing that data and applications will perform to service level agreements with the security and reliability they’ve come to expect from RFA.”

With a rapidly changing technological landscape, it's easy to settle for suboptimal solutions just to get something in place, or work around the problems in one platform to keep from having to seek out a new one. RFA's cloud platform, meanwhile, is eschewing the easy way in favor of delivering continuing value to its user base. That's a great philosophy to have for the long term, and those who already use RFA should know about this as a means to keep these folks interested.

The addition of Silver Peak materials should keep RFA's customers very happy going forward, and may even bring some new ones on board. Adding new, powerful materials to a lineup has a great way of doing just that, and Silver Peak SD-WAN should do quite well.
