The problems wide area networks or WANs face in terms of latency, jitter and packet loss have been major issues for large enterprises with multiple locations. With the advent of SD-WAN (Software Defined WAN) and NFV solutions, telecoms, network operators and enterprises are better able to address these problems while meeting the demand to support bandwidth intensive applications. Talari Networks (News - Alert)' E100 will give enterprises and their managed service partners a flexible and easy to deploy SD-WAN and WAN edge solution with up to 100 Mbps of WAN bandwidth so these bandwidth intensive applications and services can be supported over a secure and cost-effective WAN.

According to Talari, the E 100 will simplify and reduce the expense associated with branch services for enterprises that have many locations while offering multiple core network functions. This includes integrating key network services such as routing, firewall and DHCP on a common platform using the company's failsafe SD-WAN capabilities to lower the complexity through the consolidation and replacement of legacy routers and service delivery platforms.

The Talari Appliance E100 can be deployed easily out of the box with support for 20, 40, 80 and 100 Mbps performance levels, which are controlled by software licenses that can be adjusted. When the needs of the organizations increase, it can be upgraded to a higher performance level.

Once it is up and running, two pairs of fail-to-wire ports automatically enable a pass-through mode in the rare event of an unforeseen appliance outage for a fault tolerant system that will ensure reliable operations for enterprises while delivering strong service level agreements for service providers.

“Enterprise IT is transitioning to a branch environment that is no longer based upon multiple, difficult to install and support appliances from legacy networking vendors. A simple to deploy, centrally managed and easy to upgrade platform is required for the next generation WAN edge. The Talari Appliance E100 is a powerful, cost-effective solution that can address these requirements today,” said John Dickey, co-founder, president and chief operating officer of Talari Networks.

The deployment of Talari SD-WAN is further simplified with its Talari Aware (News - Alert) centralized management software, which allows IT personnel to configure, monitor, and analyze SD-WANs. With Aware, the deployment of Talari appliances can be carried out with fewer configuration errors and less time. Administrators will also be able to access detailed performance data correlated across the network for an overall easy to manage SD-WAN with greater visibility into network and application performance.
