Software is shaping the future, with SDN and NFV guiding the journey. Digital transformation is driving much in the way of change, supporting our always-on, always plugged-in, SaaS (News - Alert)-tastic reality. Across the globe SD-WAN is building momentum, as there is no denying what this burgeoning technology brings to the table.

Colt announced the arrival of expanded SD-WAN services in the Asia Pacific region in addition to a new On Demand offering in Singapore. Both solutions leverage the Colt IQ Network spanning more than 200 cities across the world.

"These two solutions are bringing Colt's advanced SDN and NFV capabilities to Singapore, which is leading the world in integrating technology in ways that benefit the everyday lives of its citizens. It's for this reason that Colt wants to support these efforts in Singapore with the best in digital infrastructure available today," explains Peter Coppens, Vice President Product Portfolio, Colt Technology Services.

Colt’s freshly added SD-WAN services include application based steering as well as real time service changes through a user-friendly customer portal and virtual routing – powered by NFV. The On Demand offering enables businesses to experience what it is to have an agile network, and support the fluid requirements of the modern networks.

"Through Colt's SD WAN and On Demand services, Singapore enterprises can now take full control over their agile, high bandwidth network in the way that best suits their business needs. It's such technology that truly allows organisations to undertake the digital transformations required to thrive in the business environment of today,” Coppens continued.

SD-WAN is winning the day, we see headlines and projections ad nauseam, but it isn’t until the rubber meets the road that the enterprise is able to experience everything this burgeoning technology can provide.
