A high performing network is a necessity in the enterprise, and as demands continue to mount as a result of our SaaSy, digital reality of today’s business climate, software defined solutions are saving the day. Most notably, SD-WAN is making waves. A space set for explosive growth, it’s seeing expansion with a push toward augmenting partner networks and rounding out portfolios of offerings.

This week, leading South Korean MSO, Hyundai HCN, expanded its portfolio with the addition of managed SD-WAN services by way of SilverPeak. Hyundai HCN enterprise and service provider customers can now utilize the Silver Peak (News - Alert) Unity EdgeConnect and Unity Boost in network deployments to ensure optimal performance.

“We are excited to expand our business with a new practice focused on the significant untapped business market in South Korea,” said Andy Kim, head of enterprise business and sales, Hyundai HCN Co., Ltd. “Partnering with an industry leader in SD-WAN, Silver Peak, we are confident we can quickly deliver a new managed SD-WAN service to business customers seeking the flexibility to leverage any form of WAN connectivity, including broadband, to connect employees to applications with the performance users expect and their businesses demand.”

The move not only expands Hyundai’s portfolio, it also opens the door to the enterprise and service provider markets. It can be purchased as a turnkey service, or a managed service offering. The duo will work with Weston-Comstor (News - Alert) to offer integration and fulfillment of the Silver Peak SD-Wan services, as well as ancillary products such as security offerings from partner Palo Alto (News - Alert) Networks.

Selecting Silver Peak seems a no-brainer for the South Korean firm, noting its maturity, number of production deployments, scalable pricing, security services in addition to its consumption model. It also highlights the ability to offer tiered managed SD-WAN services and the Unify (News - Alert) Orchestrator as determinants for the decision.

“We are delighted to serve as a foundational partner with Hyundai HCN as they establish a new business practice focused on enterprises and service providers across South Korea and the APAC region,” said Shayne Stubbs, vice president service provider and cloud, Silver Peak. “Having Weston-Comstor at the ready to provide turnkey fulfillment and integration services will enable joint enterprise customers to bring up new managed SD-WAN services with the ease, efficiency and effectiveness they require to drive their businesses forward.”

Hyundai  HCN is seeing the software-defined writing on the wall, and is striking when the iron is hot. This rapidly expanding space is still on the bottom floor, and, much like the great glass Wonkavator, is set to go through the roof. The software defined revolution is at hand, ushering in a new era of scalable, high performing and cost friendly solutions ready to transform your network and operations.

Is your WAN software-defined?
