SD-WAN technology tools and network-as-a-service revenues will grow by more than 30 percent over the next 5 years, according to Futuriom. And, the firm says, they are likely to see 75 to 100 percent growth from 2017 to 2018. Revenue from SD-WAN tools and NaaS revenue will approach $1 billion by 2019, it adds, and $1.6 billion by 2021.

The “Building a Cloud-Centric Hybrid Network Software-Defined WAN” report from Enterprise Management Associates says that 42 percent of businesses adopt SD-WAN to improve their application performance. And 32 percent of businesses employ SD-WAN to reduce their operational and/or capital expenses.

“Features like a scalable pipeline and intelligent path selection can improve network performance enterprise-wide,” notes Comcast Business. “Application-aware routing protocols let your network adjust to demands in network traffic.”

The company adds that, by enabling organizations to push policies to branch locations and launch new sites remotely from a central location, SD-WAN saves businesses in time and travel. Plus, intelligent software enables companies to eliminate some of the expensive hardware they are or would’ve been using.

The “State of SD-WAN Connectivity” report from Aryaka (News - Alert) says global private networks provide 4.1 times faster application response time compared to the Internet. And it adds that improved application performance can enable a company to increase its productivity and revenue.

“Historically, Internet-based SD-WANs have been effective at simplifying branch connectivity and driving cost savings from a regional perspective. However, global enterprises who are forced to go over the Internet for most cloud- and SaaS (News - Alert)-based applications, experience lost productivity and poor end user experience due to slow application performance,” said Gary Sevounts, Chief Marketing Officer of Aryaka. “This data highlights the faster and more consistent way to deliver business-critical applications. IT leaders in global enterprises must deploy an SD-WAN solution with a cloud-native private network, such as Aryaka, if they want to ensure real-time delivery of their most essential applications.”

To learn more about SD-WAN, join Aryaka, Comcast (News - Alert) Business, and the many other exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors at SD-WAN Expo. This event will take place Feb. 14 through 16 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. For more details, click here.
