Seeking automation, scalability and improved control in your WAN? Is your WAN up to the task of supporting your digital transformation efforts and the application-driven cloud era? Not sure? Well, the working world waits for no man (or woman), and SD-WAN is quickly becoming the preferred networking solution of those seeking secure, network modernization.

This week, Virgin Media (News - Alert) Business unveiled a new partnership with Versa Networks, netting it access to a slew of secure software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) services aimed at providing security, cloud integration, improved connectivity and automation.

Peter Kelly, Managing Director of Virgin Media Business, noted “Versa Networks is a true market disruptor and therefore the perfect strategic fit for Virgin Media Business. Our partnership will put the cloud at the heart of our enterprise network and allow us to offer our customers an industry leading service that gives them greater agility, flexibility and control over how they design and manage their corporate network to unlock their digital potential.”

Enterprise networks can leverage the next-generation SD-WAN solutions to connect dispersed branch offices and data centers in an open and flexible manner. The crown jewel of the partnership, Virgin Media Business intends on offering Versa Network’s Cloud IP platform to offer enterprises a fully managed, and absolutely secure SD-WAN services.

Virgin Media Business clients can reap the rewards of enhanced automation in addition to an application intelligence service more than capable of improving connectivity and the end user experience.

“SD-WAN is turning corporate IT on its head; enabling the IT to respond to the business needs rather than the business responding to what the IT can deliver,” Kelly concluded.

SD-WAN is no passing fad, this storm of innovation, adoption and partnerships in just getting started. This young market is still far off from maturity; and with this newly minted partnership Virgin and Versa are both quite well positioned.
