RAD Adds Versa Cloud to Its Toolbox

RAD will be selling Versa Cloud IP Platform software as part of a bundled offering. This new package aims to enable service providers more easily transition to vCPE and SD-WAN.

In this case, the Versa solution is offered as part of the RAD vCPE Toolbox. The Toolbox also includes RAD’s own open operating system, pluggable PNFs, and uCPE. RAD’s open operating system is called the vCPE-OS. The RAD uCPE solutions include ETX-2v white boxes, and ETX-2i Whitebox+.

“Our service provider customers stand to gain much value from this SD-WAN functionality running on top of RAD’s carrier class vCPE-OS operating system, alongside any additional best-of-breed VNFs required by them,” said Ilan Tevet (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and business development at RAD. “Customers can choose to implement the SD-WAN virtualized network function over any available infrastructure, using any available hardware, including our ETX-2v white box or the ETX-2i Whitebox+, according to their needs.”

Rob Mustarde, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Versa Networks, added: “With RAD’s leadership in the access network, global footprint, sales organization, and network of channel partners, more network operators can benefit from faster rollouts, improved performance and lower cost with integrated networking, security, visibility and analytics.”

The companies will be demonstrating the joint solution starting later this month at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert). And this week Rob McBride of Versa Networks will be speaking at SD-WAN Expo. He’ll be on Wednesday’s 10 a.m. SD-WAN Expo panel titled “Network Evolution in the Cloud Age.” This event is collocated with ITEXPO this week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Versa Networks provides SD-WAN and SD-Security solutions. These technologies enable service providers and large enterprises to upgrade their WANs to address the cloud and other application and networking challenges and opportunities. Founded in 1981, RAD sells Service Assured Access solutions that provide visibility of network and service performance.
