SD-WAN Week in Review: Versa, SilverPeak, InfoVista & More

Digital transformation is touching all points of technology, and as the cloud adoption and applications grow, SD-WAN is an exceptional way to deliver performance, reliability, flexibility and cut costs on an organizations WAN spend. So with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was in SD-WAN news: It’s time for the Week in Review!




The week started off with a bang, as GTT announced plans to purchase Interoute for $2.3 billion in cash adding more than 70,000 kilometers of fiber in Europe, data centers and collocations assets. ZTE (News - Alert) and InfoVista unveiled a “strategic alliance” as well as the general availability of an application-aware SD-WAN solution for the enterprise. The joint product delivers infoVista’s WAN Optimization, application session routing, application visibility and application QoS control melded with ZTE’s routing, overlay, zero-touch management and service orchestration via single unified branch gateway. Also in the news, Silver Peak (News - Alert) announced that MSP TPx Communications is leveraging the Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect to deliver services to multi-location and international enterprises. 2018 is starting strong for Silver Peak, as just a couple short weeks ago it was honored at SD-WAN Expo. This week, Versa unveiled the report, “SD-WAN Adoption is Accelerating to Reduce Security Risk,”done so in conjunction with Dimensional Research, the report notes that 85 percent of companies are actively investigating SD-WAN to address complexity and security issues.
