Silver Peak Turns to TCV for Global Expansion Acceleration

This week, Silver Peak (News - Alert) announced $90 million in strategic investment from TCV to aid the SD-WAN provider to accelerate its global expansion plans.

Silver Peak joins companies like Genesys (News - Alert), Netflix, Spotify and Airbnb on TCV’s lengthy list of backed ventures. And, as part of the arrangement, TCV general partner Tim McAdam joins the Silver Peak board of directors.

"It’s rare that we see an opportunity to disrupt a massive, entrenched $100 billion technology category supporting mission critical applications and communication,” said Tim McAdam, general partner at TCV.

The cloud era is driving a new day in networking, which is pushing the enterprise WAN performance envelope. SD-WAN is proving to support the massive cloud movement taking place and underpinning the current of phase of digital transformation – all the way to the edge. Regardless of which analyst firm one chooses to believe, one thing is clear across the board: SD-WAN is due for exponential expansion.

"With more than $100 billion spent on the WAN every year by enterprises, much of it on technology that pre-dates the cloud, Silver Peak has an enormous opportunity as we deliver disruptive new WAN edge solutions for enterprises,” noted Silver Peak Founder and CEO, David Hughes (News - Alert).
