Versa Networks, the innovator of Secure Cloud IP architecture, a software platform which delivers integrated cloud, networking and security services and company partner Axians, a provider of a comprehensive range of ICT solutions and services from business applications and data analytics to cloud services and cybersecurity; have announced that their partnership has resulted in a major customer signing with the technology service provider Zen Internet. Zen is a UK-based provider selling WAN connectivity to homes and enterprises as well as enterprise cloud and voice solutions who have a huge presence of over 400 locations throughout the UK.

Zen Internet, recently voted best broadband provider in the UK for the second time in a row for services provided, will be able to expand and further develop their offerings by leveraging Versa’s WAN edge infrastructure via Axians technical integration and operations support as well as continuing to support Zen in Versa-powered SD-WAN solutions for the UK SD-WAN market.

“The skills and capabilities that we have in our team allow our customers to focus primarily on their strategic business goals,” said Chris Gilmour, CTO of Axians. “For Zen, we consulted on the development of a software-defined networking solution including head-end and analytics, professional services to support in the build of the platform and uCPE technology for lab and end-customer use. Our partnership continues as we support Zen on their go-to-market strategy.”

A combination of full multi-tenancy, multiple deployment options, zero-touch provisioning, and multi-cloud compliance by Versa’s SW-WAN solution, enables solution providers to develop NFV-based managed service offerings of high value to their customers, allowing enterprises to leverage these capabilities to:

  • Manage WAN costs efficiently
  • Simplify operations
  • Enhance network flexibility
  • Improve critical security functions, i.e. next-gen firewall and secure web gateway to integrate automatically with other networking functions.

“Our customers’ WAN requirements are becoming increasingly sophisticated,” said James Albiges, General Manager – Networks & Communications, of Zen. “Many have international locations, others are looking for visibility and control at the application level, and all are looking for a flexible, fully-managed or co-managed WAN solutions. By working together with Axians, we have been able to leverage their logistics capabilities and their expertise in software-defined networking. We can now provide an agile, cost-effective solution that incorporates sophisticated analytics and SLA management, as well as dynamic application and connectivity management, all supported by the expertise and support we are known for.”

Versa Networks, who has over 150k software licenses through service providers, partners and enterprises internationally is continuing to expand their reach within Europe by helping large enterprises and service providers enhance their existing MPLS networks and to make an investment in VNF SD-WAN, this, in turn, resulted in the partnership with Axians in the UK to bring this software-based solution to market.

“We forged a relationship with Axians, to accelerate adoption of our innovative technology for enterprise customers,” said Atchison Frazer, CMO, Versa Networks. “Axians works well with Versa because they understand the whole Versa software stack and not just the SD-WAN overlay. Our mutual success in working with Zen is a testament to that chemistry, in that the Versa relationship with Axians is not only a technology partnership but also a catalyst for digital transformation growth in the UK and across Europe.”
