Bajaj Electricals is a consumer electrical equipment manufacturing company in India that is part of the Bajaj Group. The organization as a whole has a global presence, which makes effective communications with its customers, vendors and employees a critical piece of operations. For Bajaj Electricals, which was experiencing frequent disconnects during VoIP and web-conferencing sessions because of its legacy Internet-based wide-area-network (WAN) connectivity, it meant finding a new company to address the issues with its network. It did so by choosing Aryaka, provider of WAN optimization and global private connectivity.

Aryaka's global SD-WAN delivers performance that is up to 40 times faster for on premises and SaaS (News - Alert) applications with industry-standard quality of service along with end-to-end network and application visibility.

One of the challenges Bajaj Electricals was facing was finding a technology that would bring it offices all over India, as well as branch offices in China and Dubai together. According to the company, it was considering Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), but it didn't support its business expansion initiatives. It was more expensive for the Asia-Pacific region, and deployments can run into several months.

General Manager of IT Infrastructure for Bajaj Electricals, G Sowmiyanarayanan, said high jitter and packet loss was undermining the company's efforts for effective communication and collaboration between global employees, especially for its users in China. Using Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and web-conferencing applications was particularly troublesome.

The first thing Ayarak's solution delivered was fast deployments, which was accomplished in a few days according to Bajaj.  The Aryaka (News - Alert) global private network, WAN Optimization, SD-WAN functionality, 24×7 CCIE-grade customer support, and network and application visibility was quickly available.

"Many global businesses in this part of the world, like Bajaj Electricals, are looking for smarter alternatives or replacements to legacy connectivity technologies like MPLS. And Aryaka delivers everything they need – performance, agility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness," said Ashwath Nagaraj, Founder and CTO, Aryaka Networks.

The benefit it experienced include, connection setup time that was twice as fast, packet loss was less than 2 percent for real-time traffic, disconnects were eliminated during VoIP calls and web-conferencing sessions, and there was improvement in quality of service. Based on these results, Bajaj added Dubai to the Aryaka network, and it was operational within 24 hours.

Aryaka says it is the number one alternative to MPLS, and for Bajaj Electricals it was. It gave the company global connectivity with a quality of service it can rely on to communicate with all of its resources through a single fast and reliable network.
