Hype is a powerful thing, and something we know all too well in technology circles is the search for the “next big thing.” The moniker brings hype, but even with projections pegging SD-WAN for explosive growth, this rapidly maturing market is matching expectations. In a space seeing accelerating competition, innovation and strategy, it’s important to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, to see which providers are separating from the pack.

Recent research from Quadrant Knowledge Solutions named Versa Networks as the 2018 SD-WAN Company of the Year. The study, “Market Outlook: Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), 2018-2023) offers a thorough examination of a space stealing the networking spotlight.

"Quadrant's team believes that, with the advanced SD-WAN technology coupled with the right competitive and growth strategy, Versa Networks has the potential to cause major disruption in the marketplace," stated the study. "The company with its advanced SD-WAN, SD-Security and SD-Branch solution is well positioned to help enterprise companies and service providers in achieving significant business advantages by improving network agility and performance, scalability, enhanced security, and reduced overall costs."

Quadrant Knowledge Solutions singled out the Versa IP Cloud Platform for its innovation, simplification, and end-to-end WAN optimization – including both the operational and user sides. In addition, Versa’s SD-WAN solution provides a more complete package than the competition, i.e. integrated security to software-defined the branch.

"Being recognized as the SD-WAN company of the year echoes our commitment to simplify the operational experience while delivering a transformative and better application end-user experience for our customers worldwide," said Robert Mustarde, SVP of worldwide sales at Versa Networks. "We are proud to be named the leader in this growing market and look to build upon our momentum with more global deployments through the rest of the year."

SD-WAN is not a passing fad, it is a leading enabler of digital transformation and the cloud era. The question is not if your organization should be investigating SD-WAN, but when.

What’s in your WAN?
